Animal cruelty case, Tarkington, Nov. 14, 2011

  • An estimated 20 animals, mostly pit bulls, were removed from a Tarkington home on CR 310 after law enforcement reportedly determined the animals were living in dire conditions. Some of the animals were found dead in cages. One dog had to be euthanized.

Accident on FM 2025

  • The driver of an 18-wheeler lost control of his load of lumber and ran off the road, causing the truck to jackknife and roll over. Lumber was strewn all over the roadway, causing traffic delays for hours while crews picked up the debris. The driver was trapped in his vehicle for an hour until he was freed by firefighters.
