  • Kingwood's Ryan Orlando met with ABC 13 meteorologist Casey Curry to learn more about the meteorology industry during a visit to the station on Oct. 3, 2012. The meting was set up by Autumn's Dawn, a nonprofit organization which helps young adults with autism prepare for life as independent adults, to help Orlando find a way to use his meteorology degree.

The events culminate with the crowning of a rodeo queen and a youth livestock auction. Farmers, ranchers recovering from drought

East Texas animal rehabilitator cares for local wildlife

Heyde makes sure each animal is healthy enough to fend for themselves before releasing them back into the wild.

Tomball church helps local community members

  • Members of the First Baptist Church of Tomball spent the week in the Cleveland/Tarkington area helping spruce up Doland Baptist Church and assist needy community members with small construction projects during the week of July 10. Despite heavy rain, church members landscaped the front of Doland Baptist Church, installed a jungle gym, painted rooms and expanded the church's youth area.
